…ISAK BERGMAN, Speaker
1. Who are you?
I`m 42 years old. I live in Blekinge with my family, wife, and 2 Boys on the countryside. Love sports, being outdoors, and traveling.
2. You have been working with ÖTILLÖ at 28 events in the past 9 years. Tell us how it started.
I worked as a commentator for many different races such as Göteborgsvarvet, Lidingöloppet, Oringen, and other big sporting events. In 2015, Mats Skott contacted me, if I was interested in commentating for ÖTILLÖ. My first race was a Sprint race on Utö in 2015 and I remember that it was raining heavily and there were 9 competitors racing. The day after, the World Series racers competed in less than 7 degrees cold water and many competitors had to withdraw from the race due to the cold water. I asked myself how I got here but I must admit the atmosphere was very nice!
3. What do you like most about the Swimrun community?
The good spirit between the racers and the nice crew of the ÖTILLÖ organization. To me, ÖTILLÖ is friendly racing and happy people!.
4. What was your most emotional moment at an ÖTILLÖ race?
My favorite moment was when a man of a Mixed Team went down on his knee to propose to his teammate right after they had reached the finish line. He had the ring in his wetsuit for the entire race.
5. Is public speaking your full-time job?
15 years ago, I commented races almost every weekend for a living, now I just do it for fun and keeping my firm up and running a couple of races every year.
6. How many languages do you speak?
I speak three languages fluently and can comprehend two more.
7. What is your background in sports?
As a kid, I tried many sports, but ended up in Orienteering, where I was part of the Nation team, and I won the Swedish Championship. Nowadays, it’s mostly padel.
8. Have you done a Swimrun?
I have only completed a Swimrun in training, but never a real race.
9. Who would be your dream Swimrun partner?
That is for sure Niclas “The Fish” Nilsson, who assists me at ÖTILLÖ Gothenburg. It would be a dream team!
10. Which ÖTILLÖ events will we see you at this year?
I will be at all Swedish events: Utö, Gothenburg, Final 15K, and ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship.
